Connecting with Your Spiritual DNA

I have been discussing our Spiritual DNA on the podcast. So what is our spiritual DNA? We each have been formed and fashioned to uniquely reflect and represent how our Creator created us. Ultimately it is how He wants to express His Life through us, and it is as distinctive as our physical DNA. None of us demonstrates His Life in the exact same way. This is our unique design straight from our Designer.

Sounds simple, huh?! But because we live in a fallen world, we can be separated from our design. Sin, wounds from our past, life in general…all can tempt us to abandon our blueprint. It has been my observation that it often is more than just temptation to use it for self rather than God. More likely than not it can be sheer unbelief or ignorance of His divine design. That is what I want to talk about today.

Our Spiritual DNA

I can walk in this unbelief and literally prevent Christ’s unique expression from manifesting through me. Statements like: “I have made too big of a mess of my life, I fail every time I try, I don’t have what it takes, it is beyond me….all these can be our self talk standing as a wall against us connecting with our DNA. But the reality is, our DNA is intact. It is who we were created to be, it is who we are.

For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable [for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call].
Romans 11:29 AMP

So what do you do if you’re trapped in this spiral of disconnection? It’s not like we have to go get it, we already have it because it is how we were created. I am not acquiring something, I am connecting to what already is in place.

The Design of the Designer

First and foremost we have to listen deeply to our Designer. He has a huge passion for you to connect with your spiritual DNA. He gave it to you after all. The other is involvement with brothers and sisters who see you. Those who have vision and faith for your connection to your design.

I have personally had this in my life. I have sought my Designer for His unique expression but also have had others stand with me and help me jump the hurdles of unbelief in my way. The work was invaluable. The enemy so wants to convince us that we are not who we were designed to be. It is an all out assault.

What’s Next?

I personally have a great desire to walk with men and see them come into wholeness and healing to truly experience who they’ve been created to be. My goal in this is work with them and to hold space for these guys. Literally I want to allow the Holy Spirit to move in that space to make mental connections, heart connections, spirit connections with the Creator who created us and who has a design for each of us. I am not there to fix or even teach but rather assist others to connect with who they actually already are in Him. More on this later.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
